좋은 건축의 조건 Conditions for good architecture 

00:13 건물이 주변의 건물들과 어떤 관계를 맺을 건지, 그 건물이 주변의 자연 환경이나 길 혹은 지형과 어떤 관계를 맺을 건지 같은 그런 관계들이 되게 중요한 것 같습니다.  

00:13 How will the building relate to the surrounding buildings? How will the building relate to the surrounding natural environment, roads, or topography? I think these relationships are very important.

어우러져 아름다운 곳 Beautiful place in harmony

01:13 자연이 가진 아름다움이 있고, 건축물 자체의 아름다움이 있는데 자연에 건축물이 더해지면서 자연만 있을 때는 없는 그런 강력한 공간들이 생기는 경우들이 있습니다. 

01:13 There is the beauty of nature, and the beauty of architecture itself, and as architecture is added to nature, some powerful spaces are created which don’t exist when only nature is there.

02:39 사람들이 자연을 밀어내고 그 자리에 도시를 세우고 뭔가 인공적인 걸로 대체를 했지만 그 틈에서 식물들이 자연스럽게 자라나곤 합니다.

02:39 Although people ended up pushing nature away and building cities in its place, and replaced it with something artificial, plants grow naturally in these cracks.

도시에서 자연을 만나는 방법 How to meet nature in the city

05:32 건축물 혹은 도시에 보면 빈 공간이 상당히 많습니다. 그 공간들을 최대한 생태적으로 활용하면서 방법들을 찾는다면, 충분히 바뀔 수 있는 여지가 많은 것 같습니다. 

05:32 If you look at a building or a city, there are a lot of empty spaces. If you find ways to use these spaces as ecologically as possible, there would be plenty of room for change.

다르게 보기 Look different

06:31 그냥 지나치지 않고 조금 관찰을 하듯이 바라보면서 일상을 살면 똑같은 하루를 보내도 훨씬 더 풍부한 환경에서 살고 있는 거라는 생각을 할 수 있지 않을까요?

06:31 If you live your daily life while observing a little, not just passing by you would think that you are living in a greater wealth of environment even if you spend the same day, right?
