진작하기 위해 마련된 사업입니다.

권역별 선발을 통해 전통예술의 영역을 확장하고, 가능성을 탐색하며

온라인 공간에서의 감각적이고, 창조적인 활동을 위한 

영상 교육, 제작을 지원하는 '국악 크리에이터 양성' 프로젝트입니다.

The “Gugak Artist Lab” initiative, launched by the National Gugak Center, aims to support traditional artists and encourage the development of online content rooted in traditional arts.

This endeavor focuses on fostering “Gugak Creators” by offering support in video education and production. It seeks to enrich and broaden the scope of traditional arts, exploring new possibilities and expanding its reach through regional programs and the inclusion of international participants. The project emphasizes creative and sensory experiences in the digital realm, paving the way for innovative expressions of traditional art forms.

[작품소개/ Introduction]

조선 태종 때 일본에서 사신과 함께 코끼리 (당시 ‘코길이’라 부름)를 보내온 역사적 기록에 영감을 받아 인도네시아의 가믈란 음악을 바탕으로 정악과 무악을 접목해 만든 곡이다. 

코끼리를 환대하는 음악이자 고향 인도네시아를 떠나 힘겨운 여생을 보냈을 코끼리를 위한 헌정곡 이다.

Drawing inspiration from historical accounts dating back to the era of King Taejong in the Joseon Dynasty, which detail the arrival of an elephant in Korea alongside Japanese envoys, this composition is a creative blend of traditional Korean court music (jeongak) and dance music (muak) with Indonesian gamelan music. 

The piece serves as a welcoming piece for the elephant and a tribute to honor its life, acknowledging the challenges it faced after leaving its native Indonesia.
