The “Gugak Artist Lab” initiative, launched by the National Gugak Center, aims to support traditional artists and encourage the development of online content rooted in traditional arts.

This endeavor focuses on fostering “Gugak Creators” by offering support in video education and production. It seeks to enrich and broaden the scope of traditional arts, exploring new possibilities and expanding its reach through regional programs and the inclusion of international participants. The project emphasizes creative and sensory experiences in the digital realm, paving the way for innovative expressions of traditional art forms.

[작품소개/ Introduction]

  ‘느리게 걷자, 행복 늘이게’ 작품은 도심에 있는 다양한 길에서 천천히 걸으며 여유를 찾고, 행복을 찾자는 의도를 가지고 제작했습니다. 2022년 3월에 발매한‘느리게타령’을 활용해 도심 속에 마련된 아름다운 자연공원에서 여유롭게 즐기는 모습으로 담아냈습니다. 원곡 ‘느리게타령’은 사랑을 '늘리다'의 용도와 달리 원곡의 선율과 가사를 이용하여 '느리게'로 재해석해 바쁜 현대인에게 잠시 휴식을 주는 메시지로 재창작하였습니다. 이러한 메시지가 영상에 전반적으로 잘 활용되기 위해 가사를 영상 안에 첨부하였습니다. 전반적으로 평화롭고 천천히 걸어가는 장면과 휴식을 취하는 장면을 주로 영상에 담아냈으며, 밴드 멤버들이 모두 모여 앉아 있거나 풀밭에서 연주하는 장면도 담아냈습니다.

  촬영 장소는 고심 끝에 여의도 한강공원으로 정했습니다. 특정한 스토리라인에 집중하기보다는 자연스럽게 도심과 자연 공간이 한 화면에 잡히기를 의도했습니다. 여의도 물빛무대 주변 지역은 강 바로 옆에 녹지공간이 있습니다. 강 쪽을 바라보면서 강 건너의 빌딩들과 한강의 전경이 드러나도록 했습니다. 반대 방향을 촬영할 때는 올림픽대로 바로 밑 공간의 공원으로 이동하여 건물의 중반부까지만 노출되도록 했습니다. 특정한 지역이 특정되지 않도록 시그니쳐 빌딩이 고스란히 노출되지 않게 앵글을 조절해 촬영했습니다.

The piece titled “Walk Slowly, Increase Happiness” was created with the intention of discovering relaxation and joy by meandering through various city paths at a leisurely pace. Launched in March 2022, it features "The Song for Slowness" to depict the serene pleasure of people in a beautiful urban natural park. This original track is reinterpreted to emphasize “slowness” over “increasing happiness,” altering its tune and words to provide a respite for the busy modern listener. The lyrics were seamlessly integrated into the video to enhance the message. The footage mainly includes tranquil scenes of people walking leisurely and resting, with glimpses of the band members congregating or performing in a lush field.

Yeouido Hangang Park was thoughtfully selected as the filming location, aiming to blend urban and natural elements within a single visual narrative. The vicinity of the Yeouido Water Light Stage offers verdant areas adjacent to the river. The camera angles were arranged to showcase the riverfront buildings and a sweeping view of the Han River. For shots in the reverse direction, the filming took place in the park beneath Olympic Road, strategically framing only the mid-sections of the buildings. We adjusted the camera angles to avoid clearly revealing identifiable landmarks in the footage.
