METALISM, 차갑지만 유려하게 공명하는 금속의 서사

METALISM은 국악에서의 ‘금속성’이라는 음색의 탐구로 시작된, 지금까지 같이 음악을 공부해 온 최민준X하병훈X황정현으로 구성된 팀이다. 전통음악의 답습 뿐만 아니라 독창적인 음악적 시도들로 ‘국악’을 연주하는 METALISM은 새로운 음향과 음색 그리고 음악에 대한 탐구로 지금까지 다른 이들이 걷지 않았던 길로 나아가고자 한다.

METALISM is a team composed of three members who have studied music together so far, starting with an exploration of "metallic” timbre in Korean traditional music. METALISM performs new ‘Gugak’ through making creative musical attempts as well as following traditional music. The team aims to go on a path that others have not walked on so far, exploring new sound, tone, and music.

Steel; Still / 작곡 황정현, 하병훈, 최민준 Composed by METALISM

우리가 지금까지 익혀온 우리의 것(Still)을 금속의 소리(Steel)에 담아내고자 한 이 작품에는 전통적인 것들에 대한 각자의 고민이 녹아 있다. 뿐만 아니라 금속성의 음색에 점철된 다양한 음향적 시도들은 표현력을 극대화시킨다. Steel; Still은 혼재하는 쇠의 소리와 짧으며 길게 들려오는 날카로운 리듬, 그리고 직관적인 서사로 METALISM을 소개한다.

This work aims to capture what we have learned and practiced, which are ’still’ left in us, in the sound of metal (‘steel’), and incorporates our own thoughts about tradition. In addition, various acoustic attempts dotted with metallic timbre

maximize the expressiveness of the music. “Steel; Still” introduces METALISM with a mixed sound of iron, a short and long sharp rhythm, and an intuitive narrative.

비둘기낭폭포 Bidulginang Waterfall

‘한탄강 현무암 협곡과 비둘기낭 폭포’는 경기도 포천시 영북면 대화산리(야마리)의 불무산에서 발원한 작은 하천이 한탄강과 만나는 부근에서 용암 대지를 깎아내려 만들어진 폭포와 동굴, 깊은 협곡이다. ‘비둘기낭’이라는 이름은 옛날부터 이곳 동굴과 암석의 갈라진 틈 ‘절리’에 멧비둘기들이 많이 서식했다고 하여 붙여졌다.

The “Basalt Gorges and Bidulginang Waterfall on Hantangang River” consists of a waterfall, caves and deep gorges. These have been formed through the process of erosion of lava plateaus (near Hantangang River) by a small river rising from Bulmusan Mountain located at Daehwasan-ri (Yama-ri), Yeongbuk-myeon, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do. The waterfall was named “Bidulginang” (Dove Nest) because it has been said that turtle-doves have inhabited in the joints of the caves and rocks of this area since early times.
