문지방은 이쪽 공간에서 다른 공간으로 넘어가는 경계점인데ㅡ 그 경계점을 어떻게 다루느냐에 따라 건물이 다르게 느껴지는 것을 경험했습니다.

A threshold is a boundary point that crosses two different spaces. I experienced that buildings can change a lot by designing thresholds in different ways.

불편함을 감수하면서 낙후된 지역에서 살 것인가, 다양성을 상실한 재개발단지 안에서 편리하게 살 것인가, 이 두 가지의 안에서 선택을 해야만 하는 상황에 많은 사람들이 지금 놓여 있습니다.

Many people are now in this situation where they have to choose between these two options―whether to live in run-down areas by accepting inconvenience or live comfortably in a redeveloped complex that has lost diversity.

오래된 건물을 오랜 시간을 들여서 설계하고 고쳐서 만져 나가는 일이 큰 방향에서는 자원을 아끼고 폐기물들을 줄이고 우리 도시를 더 생명력 있게 만드는 일을 하고 있는 게 아닌가 하는 자부심을 가지고 있습니다.

Eventually, taking a long time to re-design and repair old buildings may be the best way to conserve resources and reduce unnecessary waste. I'm a bit proud of myself for working with old buildings, as it seems like elevating the vitality of our cities.
