[설향무용단 Dance SULHYANG]

설향무용단은 예술감독 김부경을 중심으로 젊은 춤꾼들이 모여 창단된 단체로써, 전통문화예술을 보다 다각적인 시각으로 해석하고 전통춤의 계승 및 재구성을 통해 누구나 쉽고 친숙하게 향유할 수 있는 전통춤의 대중화를 실현하는 단체이다.

Dance SULHYANG is a group founded by young dancers, led by art director Kim Bu-gyeong. It promotes the popularization of traditional dances that anyone can easily and familiarly enjoy, through the interpretation of traditional culture and art from a more diverse perspective, as well as the inheritance and reinterpretation of traditional dances.

[곡소개 Work Description]

구음검무 Gueum Geommu

국가무형문화재 진주검무를 바탕으로 김수악 구음을 얹어 김경란 선생이 홀춤으로 구성, 다시  김부경이 4인의 구음검무로 재구성한 작품이다. 궁중정재의 형식미와 함께 한삼자락의 우아함, 현란한 검기, 매혹적인 맨손사위가 절묘한 조화를 이루어 다채로운 춤사위를 나타낸다.

The piece is a reinterpretation of Jinju “geommu” dance (National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 12) by Kim Bu-gyeong for a quartet. The formal beauty of court banquet dances, the elegance of the “hansam” sleeves, the flashy movement of the swords and the fascinating bare hand moves are in exquisite harmony to represent a variety of dance moves.

상당산성 Sangdangsanseong Fortress

청주 상당산성(淸州 上黨山城)은 삼국시대 백제가 쌓은 산성이다. 1970년 10월 1일 대한민국의 사적 제212호로 지정되었다. 상당이라는 명칭은 백제 때 청주의 지명인 상당현에서 유래한 것으로 보인다. 지금의 모습은 임진왜란 중인 선조 29년(1596년)에 수축된 이후 숙종 42년(1716년)부터 영조 23년(1747년)까지 대대적으로 개축되었다. 

Sangdangsanseong Fortress in Cheongju was built in the Baekje kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period. It was designated as Korea’s Historic Site No. 212 on October 1, 1970. The name “Sangdang” seems to have originated from Sangdang-hyeon, the former name of Cheongju during the Baekje period. The fortress was repaired in 1596 (the 29th year of King Seonjo’s reign) during the Japanese Invasion of Korea and went through an extensive renovation from 1716 (the 42nd year of King Sukjong’s reign) to 1747 (the 23rd year of King Yeongjo’s reign).
