[더미소 (The Miso)]

〈더미소〉는 전통음악의 현대적 재해석 및 창작음악의 다양한 레퍼토리 개발에 힘쓰며 지금 시대에 필요한 위로와 치유의 메시지, 우리 음악이 가지고 있는 한과 흥의 정서 등을 담아 대중들과 호흡하고 그 맥을 잇고자 한다. 전통이 가진 힘을 통해 시대에 맞추어 가는 작업을 목표로 하고 있다.

"The Miso" strives to reinterpret traditional music in a modern context and develop a diverse repertoire of creative music. It aims to resonate with the public, conveying messages of comfort and healing that are needed in this era, as well as the emotions of sorrow and excitement that traditional Korean music reflects. The group seeks to adapt to musical trends today while harnessing the power of traditional music. 

[곡 소개 Work Description] - 난초지초 (Nanchojicho)

판소리 심청가 중 ‘화초타령’을 모티브로 창작한 곡이다. ‘화초타령’은 여러 가지 아름다운 꽃 이름을 나열하며 노래하는 심청가의 한 대목으로 서정적인 선율에 따뜻한 봄을 연상시키는 후렴구와 원곡의 가사를 이해하기 쉽도록 현대적인 정서로 풀어 가야금병창 곡으로 창작한 작품이다.

This song was inspired by the "Hwacho Taryeong(Flower Serenade)," a part of a pansori (Korean narrative singing) called Simcheongga. The "Hwacho Taryeong" is a section within Simcheongga where various beautiful flower names are listed and sung, evoking a warm spring with its lyrical melody. To make the lyrics more accessible and relatable to today’s audiences, this composition was created as a gayageum byeongchang piece (a performing genre in which a performer sings and plays gayageum at the same time).

Then, Simcheong, who threw herself into the sea to save her father, miraculously came back to life and became Simhwanghoo (queen Sim). One day, when Simhwanghoo came out to the spacious front yard to enjoy the flowers...

〈가평 아침고요 수목원 Gapyeong Morning Calm Arboretum〉
