[장명서 (Jang Myeong-seo)]

장명서는 한국을 대표하는 전통 성악인 정가(正歌)를 계승하는 가객이다. 2017년부터 MSG project를 통해 타 장르와 융합한 자작곡을 발표해왔고, 방송활동과 더불어 여러 경연 대회에서 우수한 성적을 보여주며 두각을 나타내 온 차세대 아티스트이다. 한국어의 몽글몽글한 매력을 잘 나타내는 정가의 창법과 음악적 어법을 탐구하고 다양하게 알리고자 활동하고 있다. 

Jang Myeong-seo is a singer who carries on the traditions of Korean classical singing, Jeong-ga. Since 2017, taking part in the MSG project, she has released original songs that incorporate elements from various genres. As a rising next-generation artist, she has shown outstanding performances in numerous competitions while appearing on many broadcast shows. She is dedicated to exploring and promoting the vocal techniques and musical syntax of Jeong-ga, which beautifully capture the soft charm of the Korean language. 

[곡 소개 Work Description] - 개화기 (Blooming Again)

모든 꽃은 고유의 아름다움을 품고 모진 환경 속에서 버티며 끊임없이 피어난다. 이런 꽃의 모습은 각자의 무게를 견디고 살아가는 우리의 삶과 많이 닮아있다. 사람도 저마다 결실을 맺는 속도는 다르지만 “살아가는 모두가 아름답고 소중한 존재다.” 라는 의미를 담았다. 전통가곡 중 꽃과 사람을 노래하는 편수대엽을 인용하여 빠른 템포로 재해석하였고, 대마루 구음법을 사용하여 한글 고유의 개성을 담았다. 또한, 무속음악에 사용되는 드렁갱이장단의 혼합박자 위에 베이스와 피리, 피아노의 카덴차를 얹어 뜻밖의 조화로움을 표현한 곡이다.

Every flower harbors its own unique beauty, enduring in harsh environments and blooming every season. This aspect of flowers bears a great resemblance to our lives, as we each bear our share of the burdens of life and carry on. This song contains a message that “Everyone is a beautiful and precious existence while each person bears fruit in life at a different pace.” The song is our rendition of Pyeon Su Dae Yeop, a traditional Korean song about flowers and people, and is arranged at a fast tempo. The song captures the unique characteristics of the Korean language by using the Daemmaru rhyme scheme. Also, this is a piece of music that expresses unexpected harmony by placing the cadence of the bass, piri, and piano on top of the mixed rhythm of the Deureonggaengi rhythm used in shamanistic music.

〈한국관광공사 전주수목원 The Jeonju Arboretum of the Korea Expressway Corporation〉

한국도로공사 전주수목원은 고속도로 건설 시 불가피하게 훼손된 자연환경을 복구하기 위하여 1974년 조성되었다. 당시 조경수 포지로 시작되어 현재는 10만 평 부지에 펼쳐진 24개의 주제원 안에 약 3,700여 종의 다양한 식물들이 전시되어 있다.

한국도로공사 전주수목원은 공기업에서 운영하는 유일한 비영리 수목원으로서 모두에게 개방되어 있으며, 사회적 가치를 극대화하고 공공성을 강화하기 위하여 다양한 문화예술행사, 교육·체험행사, 사회공헌활동 등을 펼치고 있다.

The Jeonju Arboretum of the Korea Expressway Corporation was established in 1974 to restore the natural environment damaged by the construction of highways. Starting as a landscaping tree nursery at the time, it now displays about 3,700 different species of plants in 24 themed gardens spread across 100,000 square meters.

The Jeonju Arboretum of the Korea Expressway Corporation is the only non-profit arboretum operated by a public corporation that provide free access to all. It is striving to increase its social contributions and enhance its public benefit by holding various cultural and art events, educational and experiential events, and social contribution activities.
