[김민주X송지훈X정주리]

 ‘김민주X송지훈X정주리’는  2019년 서울시청소년국악단 정기연주회 〈뉴파대전〉에서 이루어진 프로젝트 팀으로 첫 초연 이후 지속적인 음악적 교류를 활발히 하며 2021년 〈여민락 페스티벌〉에서 다시 함께 무대에 올랐다.

 거문고 연주자 김민주, 재즈피아니스트 및 작곡가 송지훈, 타악 연주자 정주리는 국악 전반의 정악, 민속악, 창작악의 경계를 허물고 대중과 소통하며 동시대적인 음악세계를 다채롭게 보여주고자 하는 팀이다.

 “Minju Kim x Jihoon Song x  Juri Jeong” is a project band that was organized in 2019 at the Nyupadaejeon, a periodical concert by the Seoul Metropolitan Youth Traditional Music Ensemble. Since then, the band’s members have had active musical exchanges with each other. In 2021, they were gathered together again at the Yeominrak Festival.

 The “geomungo” zither player Minju Kim, the jazz pianist/composer Jihoon Song and the percussionist Juri Jeong seek to transcend the boundaries between Korean classical music, folk music and original pieces, as well as to create colorful, contemporary music that interacts with the public.

[곡소개 Work Description]

‘신쾌동류 거문고 산조에 의한 금, 흐르다’

“A Piece of String Music Based on Shin Kwaedong Style Geomungo Sanjo”

거문고는 한자로 현금(玄琴), 즉 ‘검은[玄] 고[琴]’라 불린다. 또한 피아노는 한자로 강금(鋼琴)이라 불린다.

이러한 두 개의 금(琴)이 만나 ‘신쾌동류 거문고산조’ 가락 위에 재즈의 즉흥성과 선율로 녹여내고, 여러 가지 타악기의 새로운 사운드를 얹어 산조에 대한 새로운 패러다임을 제시한다.

다스름-중모리-중중모리-엇모리-자진모리-휘모리 장단으로 구성되었으며, 신쾌동류 거문고 산조 특유의 전체적으로 굵은 선을 지니면서도 섬세한 가락과 능숙한 기교가 돋보이며 피아노와 전통타악기 및 퍼커션의 조화로 동서양 양면적인 아름다움을 느낄 수 있는 곡이다.

The geomungo is also known as the “hyeongeum” (literally “black zither”) and another Korean word for the piano is the “ganggeum” (literally “steel string”).

The two instruments that use strings join together for jazz improvisation based on the melody of Shin Kwaedong style geomungo sanjo (sanjo: free-style solo music), supported by the fresh new sounds of various percussion instruments. This piece presents a new paradigm for sanjo music.

The piece consists of traditional rhythms of “daseureum,” “jungmori,” “junjungmori,” “eotmori,” “jajinmori” and “hwimori” beats, and features a bold and yet refined melody characteristic of Shin Kwaedong style geomungo sanjo. Furthermore, the playing of the geomungo, the piano and traditional as well as modern percussion instruments creates a beautiful harmonization of the East and West.

서울대학교 수목원 Seoul National University Arboretum

서울대학교 수목원은 우리나라 최초의 학교수목원으로서 1907년에 조성됐다. 동편·서편 22만1000㎡ 규모 수목원에 고유종·외국수종 등 470여 종이 있으며 동편은 수목원의 시발점이 된 노거수관찰원이 있어 우리나라 유일의 100년 이상 된 마로니에를 관찰할 수 있다.

Seoul National University Arboretum was established in 1907 as the first university arboretum in Korea. With a total area of 221,000 m2, the arboretum consists of the East and the West Sections where more than 470 endemic and foreign plant species grow. One of the features of the arboretum is the Large Old Trees Observation Center in the East Section, which served as a starting point for the establishment of the arboretum. There you can observe a horse chestnut tree, which is the nation’s only horse chestnut tree that is over 100 years old.
