[앙상블 수 Ensemble Su]

‘앙상블 수’는 가야금, 해금, 첼로, 피아노, 드럼으로 구성된 퓨전국악 전문연주단으로, 2015년에 결성하여 8년째 활동 중이다. 국악기와 서양악기가 조화를 이루는 연주로 ‘앙상블 수’만의 음악을 표현한다. 국내를 넘어 영국, 덴마크, 핀란드 등 다양한 나라에서 초청받아 공연을 진행하며 현대화된 한국의 전통예술을 계승하고자 한다.

Ensemble Su is a fusion Korean traditional music band composed of a “gayageum” zitherist, haegeum zitherist, cellist, pianist and drummer. Since its formation in 2015, the band has been active for over eight years. Ensemble Su expresses its uniqueness through music in which the playing of Korean traditional musical instruments harmonizes with that of Western instruments. Having been invited by many countries, including the UK, Denmark and Finland, to stage concerts, the band has been making efforts to inherit Korean traditional music culture in a modernized way.

청각장애 수어통역사의 수어와 한쪽 귀가 들리지 않는 피아니스트의 연주로 떠나간 님에 대한 그리운 마음을 담담하게 표현한 곡. 경기민요의 음색에 서글픈 해금의 멜로디와 첼로의 화음이 더해져 후반부로 갈수록 격해지는 감정을 표현하였다.

Through the sign language of a hearing-impaired sign language interpreter and the playing of a pianist who has hearing loss in one of the ears, this piece expresses a person’s longing for one’s ex-lover in a composed manner. The sad melody of the “haegeum” zither based on the tone of Gyeonggi folk songs, along with the chords of the cello, conveys increasingly stronger emotions as the music progresses to the later parts of the piece.

청남대 Cheongnamdae

청남대는 지난 20년간 6인의 대통령이 휴식과 함께 국정을 구상하던 곳으로, 국내 유일의 대통령 별장이다. 노무현 대통령이 소유권을 충청북도에 이전한 뒤 대통령 별장으로서의 기능은 사라지고, 현재는 관광지로 자리매김 했다.

Cheongnamdae was South Korea’s only presidential villa, where, for the past 20 years, six presidents had taken rest and made plans and decisions about important government affairs. After President Roh Moo-Hyun of the Participatory Government transferred its ownership to Chungcheongbuk-do, Cheongnamdae ceased to be used for its original purpose and has become a tourist attraction.
